What is Mediation

Mediation is a way to resolve differences with the support of a specialised third person, a mediator. The process involves the mediator working closely with the individuals or groups in dispute to: identify the key issues; improve communication and understanding; and develop and openly consider options for resolution, so that they may do their best to reach agreement.

Mediation as a form of alternative dispute resolution has been growing in popularity over the years, it being a process that empowers people to make their own decisions, and to resolve their differences away from more formal processes, such as court.
